Summary: VES is looking for an Security Officer to join our team in our Matamoros,Tamaulipas location. Performs the activities related to the company's Property Security and these are supervised and evaluated by the Patrimonial Security Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Grant access to employees, carriers, contractors, on-site contractors, suppliers, and authorized and identified visitors, verifying that employees have their company ID badge.
• For suppliers, contractors, on-site contractors, and visitors, requests official photo identification; for foreign personnel, requests a valid FMM immigration permit and ensures that they are on the list of authorized and approved persons before allowing access.
• For contractor personnel, requires a union permit and Social Security number. 
• For on-site contractors, request a SUA list and Social Security payment for each employee, in addition to the annual REPSE.
• Contact the visitor's host and provide guidance in case of any questions during their stay at the plant.
• Make rounds throughout the plant area based on work instructions and the security check schedule. During security rounds inside and outside the plant perimeter, reinforce vulnerable areas and report any anomalies.
• Respond to complaints from neighbors, recording them in the internal and external communication log.
• Conduct weekly key audits.
• Verify the removal of equipment, materials, and tools through the V Tracker application, and verify that the entry is timely and in the proper form.
• The Officer actively participates with the different support/service departments in inspection or verification activities.  
• When operations allow, the Security Officer may transfer personnel to medical care or courier units, with prior authorization from the Property Security Manager.
• Review cutting and welding permits and work at height permits. During rounds, review such permits.
•  Review fire extinguishers and register visitors, suppliers, and contractors.
• Review security cameras if required for incident investigation.
• Conduct daily rounds to verify that personnel are wearing their badges and personal protective equipment.
• Open/close access, service, and emergency gates to the facilities, as required and for plant operations.
• Release export shipments, verifying that the documentation matches what is physically loaded.
• Conduct parking lot rounds to verify availability and that there are no vehicles with oil spills and that parking regulations are being followed.

Education and/or Experience:

• Minimum high school education and/or relevant experience in the field.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Word, Outlook).
• Knowledge and experience in CTPAT/OAS
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience and/or training or combination of education and experience.
• Fire systems experience.
